Words that end in -MENTE in Spanish are the equal of words that end in -LY in English. They are basically adverbs.
POR EJEMPLO:
EXACTAMENTE - exactly
INMEDIAMENTE - immediately
RAPIDAMENTE - rapidly
ACTUALMENTE - actually
Words that end in -DAD in Spanish equal words that end in -TY in English.
POR EJEMPLO:
CALIDAD - quality
CANTIDAD - quantity
REALIDAD - reality
CIUDAD - city
09.24.03 PARTICIPLES
Participles are Parts of Verbs...Not real verbs
They need 'helping verbs' to allow them to say anything
-AR verbs have their participles formed by dropping the -ar
Then you add -ando to the stem
-ando means the same thing as -ing in English
Hablar - to speak Hablando - speaking
Estudiar - to study Estudiando - studying
You use a form of 'estar' to say things using participles
Yo estoy hablando - I am speaking
Ella esta estudiando - She is studying
