In March, students will continue to develop their musical ears. We will work on drawing basic rhythm patterns from teacher dictation. Students will be composing and performing their own rap songs about ice cream. We will continue to explore vocal and instrument sounds.

The focus in January and February is reading and playing rhythms. Students are learning how to read notated rhythms and play as an ensemble.

Ular - Naga (The Dragon) - this song uses the new tim-ka (long-short) rhythm.

See the dragon, here he comes, walking to and fro.

Fire dancing from his breath, be careful where he goes!

Always looking for a tasty little snack.

And he found one too, at the very back!
