Hallo Deutsche Gruppe 2,

Do as many of the quia activities from chapters 1-3 as you can. You will receive extra credit. You must complete each assignment for credit. Viel Spass!




   German II Projects:

In an effort to learn more about German-speaking cultures will be responsible for completing 4 projects during the course of the year. Each project is worth a total of at least one test grade. This is an opportunity for you to investigate anything that interests you concerning the assigned topic. You have complete freedom to use everything from internet technology (virtual tours, Powerpoints, etc.) to tapping your artistic abilities in creating your presentation. Be creative and experiment when planning your project. Now that your heads are in the clouds, I need to bring you down to earth again to give you the project requirements:

I    Die Kuche (Food) oder
II   Die Musik, Die Kunst (Music or Art)
III  Der Sport (Sports)
IV  Die Geschichte (History)
V   Die Feiertage, Die Feste (Holidays, Festivals) (Extra Credit)

Written Requirements: Commensurate with level II German

A minimum of 2 pages (double-spaced) in German only is required for completion of each project. I want you to write in your own words, I repeat in your own words, however simple, about your subject.  You will be judged on your correct use of grammar and vocabulary as well as your level of detail in your written report. Please list your references so I can access them, if necessary.

Oral Requirements: Commensurate with level II German
You are expected to speak in German for about 3-4 minutes using your notes.  During your presentation you must show the class something. This can be either a Powerpoint presentation, virtual tour, something you made, or anything else that you think the class will enjoy seeing and learning about.  Be prepared to answer questions from students after your presentation.

Rubric – You will be judged on the following criteria in both your oral and written presentations:
Proper use of Grammar and Vocabulary
Organization of Material
Your Physical Presentation (Powerpoint, artistic creation, etc.)
Fluency
Level of Detail
Clarity
Due dates: I’ll post them on my website shortly. Failure to complete on time will result in a 5-point reduction for each day late.
