- Carbon is essential for life - too much carbon dioxide in the atmosphere/water is dangerous to life
- Plants Photysnthesize to produce Glucose and Oxygen expel oxygen
- Plants utilize Energy from the sun to PHOTOSYNTHESIZE and produce Glucose and expel Oxygen.
- Ocean Phytoplankton Produce 70% of the world's Oxygen
- Ocean water absorbs 30% of the earth's Carbon Dioxide (gas)
- Carbon Dioxide (gas) dissolves in water to produce Carbonic Acid
- Rising atmospheric Carbon Dioxide levels have increased ocean acidity by 30% in the last 200 years.
- Seaweed (like land plants) absorb Carbon Dioxide from the watere and reduce ocean acidity
