Substitute Lesson Agenda for October 25-26, 2018
*****Please see Mr. Knoll in Portable 3 to assist you with plans at needed.
For October 25-26 days of lesson, please follow this web page setup instead of a PowerPoint to assist in delivering the lesson to the students. All website links are also located at the bottom of the this Quia webpage as well.
Morning Duty
7:40 a.m.
Please set up the breakfast bins onto the purple carts so they can easily grab what they want to eat for breakfast. Mikayla and Artemis can help with getting the breakfast trashed cleared from the classroom.
7:45
DURING HOMEROOM:
Please open the portable classroom door using the door stopper and stand outside to welcome the homeroom students as they enter the classroom.
Homeroom Pass: For homeroom students should sign use the blue pass to leave the portables go inside the building. Once regular class starts, they will use only their agenda as a pass.
There is a list of Pride Posse students in the binder. These students do not have to have a signed pass to go to bathroom or their lockers during Period 1-4. They do have to sign out on the Sign In and out sheet that is located on the cart near the “exit” door.

****Do not hesitate to send a student to RTC if they cause any classroom disruptive problems. No student is allowed to disturb classroom learning. RTC slips are located in the Red General Substitute folder.
October 25 Lesson (Thursday)
Before any activity each day on Thursday and Friday, students are to watch CNN 10. The link to CNN10 is below. Students should listen to discover if any ideas are mentioned on the news that relate to the topics that we have or will learn in our World Geography Unit.
Assignment #1-
*Re-teach Latitude and Longitude by having students to complete the BrainPOP. Have a student helper to run the BrainPop if desired. All handouts are located on the Purple cart. A student helper can help pass out papers.
*Access the website link by clicking on the link on the Quia Substitute page or type the address into the browser.

1. Students should watch the BrainPOP video and then complete the Latitude and Longitude BrainPOP quiz as a review on screen. No handouts are needed to complete the BrainPOP.
2. Students should then complete the Longitude and Latitude Review Sheet handout after the BrainPOP independently.
3. Collect this assignment before having them start a new one. Students who get work completed early can work on their CEO Project as desired

Assignment #2:
The Continents and Cardinal Directions Review Sheet
*Have a student helper to run the screen to complete learning tasks using the following website. The link to this online screen activity is located at the bottom of this Quia sub webpage

After the video, students should work independently to complete the worksheet page that pertains to the topic here titled Continents, Oceans and Cardinal Directions Review Sheet
Give them about 10 minutes to complete the worksheet.
Collect this assignment before having them start a new one. Students who get work completed early can work on their CEO Project as desired
• There is a website also available for students to work on as class to reinforce their understanding about the continents as well. br>
*If students complete all the work for today, they are allowed to work on the extra credit assignment. See what the handout look like that is posted on the board by the entrance door.

Wrapping Things UP
During Period 4…
Stop at 1:07 to allow the classroom enough time to organize the room and for them to gather their binder. Have students to leave using the exit door at 1:09. You as the teacher should walk ahead of the class to get to your duty inside the building along the Art Hallway.
October 26 Lesson (Friday)
Opening Activity:
• Ask students to share one student at a time one thing they will never forget about Physical Geography. Give every student a chance to respond. You may use the Pink ball and pass it around for whomever have the ball should be the only one speaking.
Middle Activity
1* Optional: Students can use the computer and work as a class to complete the Quia Matching activity that is located at https://www.quia.com/mc/575805.html.

2.*Students should work to complete the Physical Features Review sheet. They can use the atlases as needed to assist them to answer the questions. Collect this assignment before having them start a new one. Students who get work completed early can work on their CEO Project as desired

Closing Activity
• Make sure students have turned in all assignments.
• Tell students to work on their CEO project until the bell rings.
• A bin is located by the entrance door for each class to place their completed work.

October 29th Lesson
Monday’s Assignment if I am absent: Where in the World Pages. The handouts are on the purple cart.
Students should complete readings before working to complete the tasks on the pages here.
Note: If I am out half day on Monday, students have plenty of work to complete. It is OK if all work presented in the sub plans are not completed as well. Students can work on the CEO project anytime if all sub assignments are completed.
