Greetings and welcome to our 5th grade Golbow Elementary website!
Here are a few of the activities that 5th graders are beginning the millenium with!
*DARE graduation was a big success on January 13th! There was great attendance from all home rooms as proud students and parents committed to lead a drug and violence free life!
*The Annual Golbow Spelling Bee will be held on Thursday, January 20, 2000 at 1:45 p.m. in the cafeteria.
*Don't forget to give Mrs. McHale, our wonderful nurse, a pat on the back on Nurse's Day! It is on January 26th!
*Fifth graders will be attending an assembly in the Golbow gym focusing on the life of Harriet Tubman. We all look forward to learning about her incredible contributions to American history. This is scheduled for February 16, 2000.
*Fifth graders will be meeting with the junior high school counselors in a large group setting on the morning of February 16, 2000. The students will get their first "taste" of junior high as they are told what to expect in the very near future about the 2000-2001 school year! They are also encouraged to ask as many questions as they can think of, so...come prepared!
*Please continue to study math facts, vocabulary, and spelling everyday! It makes such a great difference in what they do on a daily basis!
*The fifth grade students are enjoying reading and working with first grade students at Golbow once a month! They feel so grown up being asked to help a buddy learn to read out loud better or to help write sentences! Way to Go, fifth grade Bluejays!
*If you ever have a question or concern please feel free to call the school at 281-647-5350 and leave a message with your child's teacher!
Sincerely, The Golbow Elementary Fifth Grade Team
