The diagnosis and treatment of TTP remains a major challenge to practicing hematologists.
The clinical presentation of this doisorder has expanded to a wide variety of clinical settings. The most dramatic change has been the development of TTP-like states in hospitalized patients.
While inheritted TTP has helped scientists understand the pathoibiology of this disorder there are many challenges is applying this information to acquired TTP syndromes.
The recent advance in the diagnosis and treatment of TTP will be presented.
