An African Perspective about Democracy in America. A Message to World Leaders from a Village Boy By Joseph Haba African Unity, ECOWAS, and International Community, What Innovative Leadership to you Propose for Guinea, for Africa and the Rest of the World? France, Great Britain, Spain, Portugal, Belgium and Italy, you colonized Africa for scores of years. Your innovative, creative and critical leadership was inspired by changing the African landscape in the abysses of buying slaves. Do you know what is happening in America? Your leadership theories were to favor a few with arms and ammunition as followers who profited and are still profiting the African human, natural, intellectual and economic resources. Do you know what is happening in America? France, Great Britain, Spain, Portugal, Belgium and Italy, you have defined innovation for Africa as a creative way to exploit African knowledge, leadership, economy through well organized and well financed civil wars through which you rigorously used and continue to use to sell your guns with astronomical profits to rebels while you assess and buy non-franchised gold, diamonds and other natural resources from them with the price of Africans’ blood. Do you know what is happening in America? We have seen you and continue to see you do this to our motherland; however, when God gives us an African nationalist who has significant result-driven transformational leadership so as to give innovative edge to Africa by renegotiating contracts with you, you use your followers to kill or remove him or her from power. As your African puppets and robots kill, the winter of poverty chills the hearts and souls of African children while the summer of prosperity continues to jubilate your children. Do you know what is happening in America? France, Great Britain, Spain, Portugal, Belgium and Italy, you have clearly been focused on a mission: the mission to make Africa the battle field of your profitable human trafficking and African brain drain, for which many Africans either have to flee their countries because of war, which you keep on indirectly financing. Or because of corruption, which you keep on supporting, and you continue to support dictators as long as they allow you to pick up the flowers of our natural resources. Do you know what is happening in America? Who doesn’t know how Lansana Conte of the Republic of Guinea and his associates ruined Guinea. Who doesn’t know how rebellions are financed in Africa? Do you know what is happening in America? France, Great Britain, Spain, Portugal, Belgium and Italy, even America, are you willing to abandon your passed swindling practices which have devastated, dehumanized and degraded Africa so as to negotiate a constructive and coercive-free partnership with us? America has started it. France, Great Britain, Spain, Portugal, Belgium and Italy, even America, you know the greatest difference between you and Africa is, and should always be, that Africa should continue to be your follower while you continue to be her transactional and autocratic theory X leader. Do you think democracy could change things? America has started it. France, Great Britain, Spain, Portugal, Belgium and Italy, even America, in the past you sold or bought Africans the same way a man can buy a car, food or a property: thinking they were savages. Do you think democracy could change things? America has started it. Today, God has proven otherwise. The President of the United States has an African blood in him which continues to water the hope Africa deserves. There are thousands of doctors and nurses who are Africans. Does it sound awe? Do you think democracy could change things? America has started it. Yes, the power of organized and stored knowledge is now at everyone’s reach; therefore, please reassess the damage you have done to Africa and be willing to implement an innovative partnership with transformational African leaders who have studied in your universities, in African universities. Do you think democracy could change things? America has started it. Partnership with Africa is possible if it is bilateral. You know, and your people know that you have not live up to your promises since the colonial era. You know, and you people know that you have never had a fair communication with us. You know, and your people know that you have not promoted positive change in Africa as you should. Do you think democracy could change things? America has started it. You know, and your people know that Africa cannot benefit from the hard work of her children if our citizenship is not supported by your good faith. Don’t you think the moment has come for you to make that difference as most African countries continue to struggle so as to innovate the fabrics of their political, economical, education, commercial and intellectual infrastructures? Do you think democracy could change things? America has started it. Don’t you realize that African leadership will never innovate if you block the process, if you do not play your role in the process? Do you think democracy could change things? America has started it. Haven’t you assessed the damages caused by slavery and colonialism as we see again and again the autocratic leadership style predominating the African politics? Do you think democracy could change things? America has started it. It is true that America participated in the dehumanization of the African people; however, looking at what has happened in the United States, a great deal of Africans would say there is hope if Africa stands together with the United States. Why you, France, Great Britain, Spain, Portugal, Belgium and Italy, cannot admit your role in the contradictive future Africa is trying to grapple? Do you think democracy could change things? America has started it. Are you not aware of the inconsistency of your ability to conduct fair games with the African people? President Obama, America has given you the power and voice to stand for America, to stand for Africa, and to stand for the rest of the world. True transformational partnership builds honest match, honest game between two players, two teams. President Obama, America has given you the power and voice to stand for America, to stand for Africa, and to stand for the rest of the world. As soon as the referee supports one team, the other team will automatically be the loser. President Obama, America has given you the power and voice to stand for America, to stand for Africa, and to stand for the rest of the world. Haven’t you noticed that the referees of international laws have always favored your interests, you, world leaders? President Obama, America has given you the power and voice to stand for America, to stand for Africa, and to stand for the rest of the world. Which business deals with Africa have you creatively and critically used to favor Africa? In the past, you considered us as commodities and instruments for your industries because, according to you, we were primitives, unlearned people. President Obama, America has given you the power and voice to stand for America, to stand for Africa, and to stand for the rest of the world. Today, it is possible for us to foster communities of cooperation because your approaches are no longer strange to us even though many African intellectuals are cleaning your windows, doing your gardening, and doing domestic chores in your countries because of the problems you created in Africa. President Obama, America has given you the power and voice to stand for America, to stand for Africa, and to stand for the rest of the world. There is nothing inspiring a European or American can do that an African cannot do. You participate in research and we do the same, you can contribute to our welfare if you are willing, and we are willing and able to do our part if you give us a chance. Let us start a new beginning as President Barack Obama is sworn in as the President of the United States. President Obama, America has given you the power and voice to stand for America, to stand for Africa, and to stand for the rest of the world. Long live education, democracy and transformational leadership in the world. May God grant us peace, democracy, education, leadership and prosperity. Amen.
