Creating an ICON for your web page - simple method.
Please follow these directions carefully.
- Open Hard Drive
- Find folder HS
- Find the folder Photoshop
- Click to open Adobe Photoshop 6.0
- From the FILE menu pull down to NEW.
- Name your file "webpages"
- Make width - 1 inch
- Make height 1 inch
- Set resolution to 72 picxels/inch
- Mode RGB Color
- Contents to Transparent
Select from the VIEW menu zoom in, do this twice to get 300% magnification
Stretch out the window by dragging the lower right corner and make the window large
PLEASE DO NOT MOVE TOOL BARS
Select a color by clicking on the rectangle icon in the top menu bar. And lets pick yellow
That is R=249 G=244 B=0 or number #F9F400
Select the rounded rectangle tool and drag a rectangle on the checkerboard area.
From the layer menu select new layer and accept the default setting.
In the graphic menu bar on the right select the "T" or text tool. And drag a box in the checkerboard area of the work space.
Select a color by clicking on the rectangle icon in the top menu bar. And lets pick red
That is R=255 G=0 B=0 or number #FF0000
Type "My Webpages!" in the text box.
From the FILE menu pull down to save for the web. Place it in a new folder called icons in your class period folder.
