August 25th-

What a week!

We just finished up the 3rd week of school!  Dirt shirts, Rocks, Minerals-  oh my!  It was wonderful meeting so many parents on Monday night, and I can't send enough thanks for all the classroom help and donations for activities.

Next week we will finish the mineral lab- then mine for chocolate chips on Tuesday!  Wednesday starts the Rock cycle with studying the various types and uses for rock... growing crystals on Wednesday and Thursday we will use the bread/jelly/marshmallow-fluff ... for the sedimentary -to- metamorphic transition....  (hopefully we will see some really good striations and "BEADING" happen.

Please play the new game:  Challenge Board (Jeopardy) for Minerals.  I've also added a couple of weeks for those with computer issues to get the DIRT STORY into the quiz section.  (Sorry it closed last Monday- I wasn't thinking that there might be internet problems!)

Hope all of you have a wonderful weekend.  Remember to check onmycalendar for assignments and such!

Students are doing a GREAT job of keeping up with the reading and workbook.  This helps so very much as we forge ahead into sometimes uncharted waters (dirt shirts)...

Hello all!

It is the 2nd week of school and we have been shaking and sifting dirt for students to make dirt-shirts!

Please notice that the web page is loaded with more web-links for your learning pleasure!
