Dear Parents,
In English class, we have started another “Literature Circles” unit. Your child has been given a novel, and will complete most of the reading of this novel at home. In class, your child will be discussing the novel with classmates and completing activities related to the characters and events in the novel. Your child has also been given a “reading calendar”, which lists the numbers of the pages to be read each night. This calendar can also be viewed / downloaded from our team website (www.schoolnotes.com/11710/team3.html).
It is very important that you assist your child with keeping up with the reading. We will be discussing the novels in class on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays, and will be giving short (5 question) pop quizzes randomly on these days based on the pages due that day. Our extra help schedule is also posted on the schoolnotes website, and we would like you to encourage your child to attend so that we can assist him/her with reading and help with his/her understanding of the novel.
