Welcome to SIXTH GRADE FOREIGN LANGAUGE!
We will study many things about langauge in our 9 weeks together. Some of what we will study is listed below:
1. The number of lanugages in the world.
2. Language families.
3. The Romance languages including Latin, Italian, and Portuguese.
4. French
5. Spanish
For both French and Spanish, we will be learning about their sound systems, cognates, and their alphabet. We will tackle some cultural items and learn where in the world these langauges are spoken in a geography mini-unit. Of course there will be lots of vocaublary, such as days of the week, months of the year, greetings, body parts, colors, classroom objects, etc.
