This year instead of doing the typical multiple choice final exam, you are going to write for me and tell me what you learned.  Here is the following information you need to explain to me:  You will be able to bring in bullet notes that can help you develop your final essay on exam day.  Here are the topics that will be covered on your final exam. 

Conflict:  Man vs. Man; Man vs. Society; Man vs. Nature; Man vs. Himself
- Cite examples from the short stories we have read this year to support your definition of the different types of conflict.

Elements of Literature:  Identify the following:  Exposition, Rising Action, Climax, Falling Action, Resolution
- Use one of the following stories to identify the Elements of Literature:   Percy Jackson and the Olympians:  The Lightning Thief, Tangerine, Hoot, or The Outsiders.

Write about three Greek Gods (The Big 12).
- What are their symbols?
- What are they known for?
- One other interesting fact about him/her.

Poetry:  Describe three different types of figurative language.  Give an example of each with your own writing.

The format of the 6 paragraphs – You are being graded on the accurate information you provide as well as COPS.  Remember this is your FINAL EXAM!
1st paragraph:  Should be a summary of what you learned in general in LA this year.
2nd Paragraph:  Conflict
3rd Paragraph:  Elements of Literature
4th Paragraph:  Greek Gods
5th Paragraph:  Poetry
6th Paragraph:  Reflection of how you think your writing has improved, and what your goals are for your next year in Language Arts.
