Plural form: Cascarones.
Cascarones were originally filled with perfumed talcum powder and given as gifts of affection. Between 1864 and 1867 Carlotta, wife of the Emperor Maximillian, brought Cascarones to Mexico. Since then Cascarones have been filled with confetti and broken over someone's head to bring good luck or to make a wish come true.

Los Artículos (the articles)
There are two types of articles. The English word THE is called a definite article because it is used to refer to a definite or specific person or thing. The word A (AN) is called an indefinite article because it refers to any person or thing, not a specific one.
The definite articles in Spanish are EL and LA. EL is used with amasculine noun and LA is used with a feminine noun. The indefinite articles are UN and UNA. UN is used with a masculine noun and UNA is used with a feminine noun.
