1. This is the website I use instead of a text. You can learn/ review French grammar here.

2. Is an online dictionary. You should install this on your phone.

3. A verb conjugator. You can get wordreference to conjugate for you, but this one is probably easier. Also, if you have an iPhone, you can go to the app store and buy Conjugation Nation. You can set it (under OPTIONS) to quiz you on the specific verbs and tenses that you choose. I use this to keep my Italian sharp.

4. lyricstraining - I use this a lot with my students. It is great listening practice. Plus, you can run song lyrics through your head, which is the best way to learn some structures. I always remind my students that "there is no understand, there is only repeat. I gave you three songs (further down the list) to practice with. DOMMAGE, for example, repeats the "Il aurait dû y aller . . ." If you have the feel of this meaning "He shoulda gone there" while you're singing/ typing, you eventually start to feel as comfortable with the French conditional past as you are with English.

5. FORVO is just a cool website that will help pronunciation. Mostly, French is easy to pronounce, but city names do not obey the rules.

6. Text and video to a wonderful book: L'homme qui plantait des arbres. The video is narrated by Jean Giono and is subtitled in French.

7. A link to 250+ verbs that are easy to learn--because all "-ate verbs" in English come from "-er" in French. And they all give us -ation nouns, which are all turned into "-ation nouns."

8. The next two links (Alphabet & Numbers) are not very important, but the languageguide.org site is very helpful. There are dozens of pages of vocab which you can mouse over and hear a native speaker pronounce.

9. Is an interesting article which discusses how French will soon be the most spoken language on Earth.
