You will use this page to complete many of your homework assignments. Homework is due by 8:29 am on the due date. Homework may be completed within a week of the due date for credit, but late work negatively affects your Responsible Scholarship grade.
If you do not have a computer at home, be sure to come and use one of the ones in class after school (3:10-3:40pm), before school (8:10-8:35am) in the classroom OR in the NHHS library before school, at lunch, or after school. Classroom computers are not available during lunch. Public libraries and friend's houses are probably an option too.
Always, ALWAYS, always, remember to write your REAL first and THEN your CLASS PERIOD (1 or 2) BEFORE YOUR LAST NAME before doing the assignment. For "quiz" homework, it will prompt you to write your name. For vocabulary homework it will not, you need to log in. The first time you do a vocabulary homework you will have to create an account. Directions for this were handed out. Homework closes at 8:29am the day the homework is due and I check at that time to see who did the homework.
In order to be sufficiently prepared you need to earn 80% or better. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THAT YOU DO THE work until you get 100% in order to fully learn the material and prepare yourself for your quizzes. For graded assignments, your score will equal your percentage earned. If you are still confused after about 5 honest attempts at doing the work, have spent more than 30 minutes on the assignment, and are still not earning more than 80%, this is a sign that you need extra help. Come in and work with me before the assignment is due. Then set up a time to get additional help after school with me.
NOTE!!! I only check ONCE on the due date to see if work is completed... SO... if the assignment is still open on quia after the original due date, I will not know that you completed the work unless you email me OR tell me during the warm-up period of class to let me know to check. Remember that on quia your work is time stamped so I know who does work on time. As always, all work for any credit, must be completed within ONE WEEK of the original due date.
Remember that all homework must be complete before you are allowed to do a retake on an assessment if you do poorly. Hopefully you won't have any need for retakes if you do all your practice assignments aka homework!
Doing the homework on the computer allows us to... conserve paper, trees, and time in class. You also get immediate feedback about whether your work is correct or incorrect. Refer back to notes and learn from your mistakes!
