Week of 10/26-10/30 Science Lessons
Monday 10/26 - Read pages 15-19 in the Reading Essentials Workbook. Reading Essentials Outline: Highlight the main ideas in each paragraph. Write the title for each section, then list the main ideas (The ones you highlighted.) for each paragraph in each section. Turn this in during the science class on Wednesday, Oct. 28.
Tuesday 10/27 - Complete pages 14-16 in the Science Notebook Workbook. Use pages 88-95 in the Science Textbook and pages 15-19 in the Reading Essentials Workbook to help you complete the work in the Science Notebook Workbook. Complete the Reading Check sections on pages 15-19 in the Reading Essentials Workbook.
Wednesday 10/28 - Workbook pages will be corrected in class as a whole group. We will review for the Quiz on Chapter 2, Lesson 1 after correcting the workbook pages. The review will focus on the selected vocabulary words for the final Chapter 2 assessment which are cell cycle, interphase, mitosis, cytokinesis, and centromere. In addition the students will be responsible for knowing the pases of mitosis in order from beginning to end and be able to identify - describe each phase of mitosis (prophase, metaphase, anaphase, and telophase). Go to the Chapter 2 Resources (This is the Glencoe McGraw-Hill Science support web page.) and go to the Standard Assessment - English section. Focus on questions #2, 3, 7, 8, 11, 12, 13, 14, 15, 17, and 18. Also use questions #1-5 on pages 114-115 of the science textbook for review. The quiz will feature a selection of questions from the Chapter 2 Resource web page and the Science Textbook.
Thursday 10/28 - Chapter 2, Lesson 1 QUIZ. The Lesson Outline, the Reading Essentials Workbook pages and the Science Notebook Workbook pages will be collected to be entered in the grade book. Students may use their outline notes for the Quiz.
