Monday February 1
We are starting Lesson 2, Chapter 5, Adaptation and Extinction. We'll start with a "What do you know about adaptation?" by doing an introductory activity embedded in a slideshow, followed by a video from United Streaming called "Life in the Desert System." The students will be expected to identify 5-10 plant and animal adaptations they see in the video. Unfortunately, the video is too large to upload to our server. Tuesday February 2
Today we will be reading pages 219-222 in our textbook. Our focus will be on understanding adaptations by studying Structural Adaptations (camouflage, mimicry, batesian mimicry, mullerian mimicry, and self mimicry. We will be completing pages 49- 50 in our Science Notebooks. If you are absent and do not have your Science Notebook at home you can download those pages below.

Lesson 2 Adaptations
Wednesday February 3
Today we will be focusing on pages 223-226 in our textbook. These pages cover Behavorial Adaptations, and the major causes of Extinction. We will complete page 51 in our Science Notebook. If you are absent and do not have your Science Notebook at home you can download that page below.

Thursday February 4
Today we will be wrapping up Chapter 5 by watching a video that combines all the key concepts found in Chapter 5, Lesson 2. The video is "Ecosystems: Organisms and Their Environment" found on the United Streaming web site. Unfortunately it is too large to download to our web page. Next week we will have our Chapter 5 final.
