Monday, March 8
Today we will be correcting pages 57-59 in the student's Science Notebook Workbook. We will be introducing Chapter 6, Lesson 3 "Evolution and Plate Tectonics" by reviewing the basics of Plate Tectonics. Today we will focus on the Earth's Internal Structure. We will be using an instructional technique called DRAW WITH ME where students follow the teacher's lead in drawing a concept and adding notes as they draw. The two "Draw with Me" lessons can be found on the US Geology website at http://geology.com/nsta/. We will be using the animations for the "Basic Earth" animation and the "Oceanic/Continental Crust" animations. To view the animation simply click on the "Click to Play Animation heading."

We will continue with the teaching lessons on Plate Tectonics by using the "Mantle" and "Core" draw with me illustrations found at the Geology.com site.
