Welcome to my webpage. I'll add information as it becomes available and time permits.

GRADING POLICY: A quiz will be given at the completion of each section. The quiz average
counts as 80% of the 6 weeks grade. The other 20% of the 6 weeks grade is the student's notebook which should contain all homework for the 6 week period as well as notes taken during class. While 20% is officially how much the notebook counts, in practice, it is worth far more than that because without a well-kept notebook, the student will probably make low scores on the quizes.

Also, the student may add up to 7 points to their 6 weeks grade by winning daily drills. Three problems will be on the overhead screen when the student enters the room. Depending, in part, upon the size of the class, 2 or more students may win an extra drill point by solving all 3 problems and correctly adding the three answers for one final answer. ALL students benefit from the drill regardless of whether they win the drill because by attempting to solve the problem and then listening to the explanation of how to solve the problems after the drill is over, they are much better prepared for quizes.

ATTENDANCE: Students who miss class time are expected to complete missed quizes OUTSIDE of class time. They can do this by making an appointment to do this right after school Monday through Thursday. Also, if they have a study-hall and tell me in advance, with the approval of their study-hall teacher, they may come to my room to take a missed quiz. Also, any of my students that just feel they need to improve in math may, likewise, see me for extra help right after school when I am in my room (which is most of the time) Monday through Thursday.
