GAUCHO DAY AT MARMON VALLEY FARM
We are visiting Marmon Valley to get a taste of the GAUCHO way of life. What are gauchos, you ask?
Gauchos are South American cattlemen, much like the cowboys of North America. They live in the dusty pampas, hills, and mountains of South America, but are especially found in Argentina and Uruguay. For a gaucho, horses, cattle, the great outdoors, and the hard everyday demand of facing the elements, rain, snow, sleet, or shine, are a way of life. Horse Riding is one of THE most important skills that a gaucho has...his livelihood depends on it. Visit the links at the bottom of this page so that you can learn about this unique South American lifestyle. ALL MEMBERS ATTENDING THE MARMON VALLEY TRIP MUST BE ABLE TO TELL WHO THE GAUCHOS ARE, WHERE THEY ARE FROM, AND THE BASICS OF THEIR LIFESTYLE. PARTICIPANTS MUST ALSO WEAR JEANS AND CLOSED -TOED SHOES or BOOTS WITH A HARD SOLE...NO FLIP FLOPS OR SANDALS. BRING A COAT! Check out Google Classroom for the online registration waiver- a parent must fill that out and submit it- information about the trip, etc.
