Here's the Big Picture:
Cells are the basic units of life or the building blocks for life.  The cell consists many organelles that have many various functions, such as a transport system in & out of the cell, reproduction, and energy production.   We are going to look at the various structures within the cell and as well as the cell membrane itself.

At the end of this unit, you should:
- feel comfortable naming the organelles and be able to describe what function(s) it performs.
- be able to distinguish mitosis versus meiosis.
- describe the transport mechanisms that the cell membrane uses.

For today's lesson, we are going to:
- take an initial look at the various organelles of the cell.
- describe the functions of the organelles.
- look at pictures of the organelles.
- review understanding of mitosis vs meiosis.

After doing so, we are going to do an online activity that will further enhance your comprehension of the cell, its' organelles, and test your knowledge of cell division stages.
