Test on Linear Motion on Wed Sept. 16 1. Be able to define distance, displacement, speed, velocity, acceleration, acceleration due to gravity, initial velocity, final velocity, average velocity, instantaneous velocity. 2. Be able to calculate the velocity or speed of an object that isn't accelerating if given the distance or displacement and the time of travel. 3. Be able to quantify the motion of an object that is accelerated horizontally by identifying which variables are given, which variable you are finding and selecting the appropriate formula from your equation sheet. 4. Be able to quantify the motion of an object that is accelerated by gravity (being thrown upward off of the ground or dropped from up high towards the ground or being thrown downward from a position off the ground), by identifying which variables are given included the inferred acceleration due to gravity, which variable you are finding and selecting the appropriate formula from your equation sheet.
