67 DAYS!!

Hello Everyone.

I have a few items for you in this update.

Fund Raiser The fund raiser through Lakeshore Teresa's Deli is under way (Alissa, please see me ASAP. If I'm not mistaken, you are the only one who has not received the coupons.) Each coupon sells for $4.25. For each sale, you earn $1.26 profit. You are each starting with 30 coupons. If you need more, please let me know. We will continue to sell until mid-February. When we are done, (a) tell me how many coupons you have sold; (b) return any unsold tickets to me; (c) keep the profit and pay me the rest (number of coupons un-returned X $2.99). The money you give to me will go to Teresa's. I will also inform the manager of Teresa's of the valid coupon numbers. When people try to redeem coupons that are not valid, I will need to check my records to see which of you was responsible for that coupon and you will need to pay for it, so please be careful where you leave them. Good luck!

Roommates During the EF portion of the tour, we will stay in three (maybe four) hotels. The rooms are triples and quads. In an effort to simplify the arrangements, EF has asked for your roommate preferences. This does get confusing because we won't know if your rooms will be triples or quads until the day we check in (I will be updated on the bus). I need to have arrangements in sets of three and in sets of four. I will try to explain this more clearly when we have our first After School Meeting.

After School Meetings Between now and our departure, I'd like to have a few group meetings. As much as I would prefer to do this during tutorial, I can't since I am at the middle school at that time of day. At these meetings I plan to discuss many various important topics such as the sites we will see, expectations while traveling abroad, lessons on how to use the Paris Metro, and many other items (like roommates). I hope to set up a schedule of exact dates soon. Please try to attend.

Passports Hopefully everyone either has their passport, or has applied for one. If not, you must do so immediately. At your earliest convenience, I need to make a photocopy of everyone's passport. I do this for three reasons. (1) EF will probably ask me for your passport info; (2) To exchange currency, you may need your passport as ID. Some places will accept a photocopy. If you have one, you will not need to take your passport out of its "safe place" very often. (3) If you were to lose your passport, the process getting a new one is simplified if you have a photocopy. In all of my years doing these trips, I have only had one student whose passport was stolen (very first day in Paris). Having the photocopy made the renewal go very smoothly.

That's all for now. As always, please let me know if you have any questions.

Monsieur
