347 DAYS TO DEPARTURE!!
Hi Everyone!
I'm just about to get rolling on the plans for next year's trip. You are receiving this e-mail because you have (or parents, your child has) expressed an interest in joining us. If you have changed your mind, please let me know and I will stop sending these updates to you.
I have been in touch with the travel company (EF) and with Madame Bouvier in Cholet. Many details are not yet set, but we have enough to conduct our first informational meeting.
That meeting will take place on Thursday, July 8 at 6:30 in my classroom at Fairview High School. The purpose of the meeting is to convince parents that this is a worthwhile program, so it is aimed at them and I will answer any questions and concerns they may have. However, students are more than welcome to attend.
Our target departure date is Monday, June 13, 2011, returning on Tuesday, June 28 (or Thursday, June 30 if we decide to take the optional 2-day extension to the French Riviera).
For now, I just want you to know about next Thursday so you can mark your calendars. But over the next few days I will send you much more information. Please take the time to look it over. What I am hoping is that by next week's meeting we will have at least 12 people who have decided to travel and are willing to make the initial payment of $95.
If you are able to attend the meeting, please write back to let me know so that I can be sure to have enough materials ready for you.
If you are unable to attend the meeting, that does not mean that you cannot travel with us. But do let me know that you are still interested. We'll get the info to you somehow.
If you know of anyone who may not have received this, please feel free to pass my information on to them.
Students, check with your parents to make sure they received this e-mail. If you are among those who did not provide me with your parents' e-mail address, please do so ASAP.
