339 DAYS TO DEPARTURE!!

If you were unable to attend last night's meeting, all (hopefully) of the important information can be found here. Below I have links to our agenda and three PowerPoints.

Departure City The prices you see quoted are based on Erie as our departure city. We may choose Pittsburgh or Cleveland instead. The advantage to using a larger city's airport is cost - about $300 more expensive to fly out of Erie. The drawback is we would need to find transportation to the other city - bus vs. carpool. We can discuss this in the near future.
Payments and Numbers In order for this trip to happen, I would like a minimum of twelve participants. The rates will most likely increase after August 31. If you enroll before then you are guranteed the rates quoted. However, if we have three people enroll before July 14, the rates will be guaranteed for everyone in our group who enrolls before October 1.
I prefer not to send the payments to EF unless I have 12. That way nobody loses their $95 registration fee. I would feel bad if I had sent three payment to EF before July 14 and we fell short of twelve people. So there is a bit of urgency for me to know your intentions. We are officially at three (I count you as soon as you have made your first payment) as I write this update. If you have made a definite decision, yes or no, please let me know.
Getting started If you have decided YES!, you need to enroll with a $95 payment. You have two methods to choose from. (a) Go to eftours.com . Enter tour number 595309 and click "Enroll" and follow the steps. (b) Complete the application from the booklet (contact me if you didn't get one), put the application & $95 check in the envelope provided, take it to the FHS office and contact me so I can pick it up. Hopefully we will have nine more people join us by Wednesday!
School Board Approval I have only recently submitted my proposal to the school board for our trip. As you can see, the initial $95 registration fee to EF is non-refundable. I feel confident that our trip will be approved. However, in the event that it is not approved by the end of September, I do have written assurance from EF that all money you have paid, including the $95 registration fee, will be refunded.
Riviera - oui ou non? Eventually we will need to decide whether or not we will take the optional 2-day addition to the French Riviera. This is a beautiful area to visit in the summer, and we would take a TGV (high-speed train) to Nice. But it would also cost an additional $485. Choosing the extension will have to be a unanimous decision among those who have enrolled (and if you are hoping for it and we don't take it, I guarantee you will still LOVE this trip). We will discuss it further in the fall.
