CHOLET UPDATE - June 5, 2011 - "A few 'almost-last-minute' things"

8 DAYS TO DEPARTURE!! (Mon dieu! Just over one week!)

Bonjour, les voyageurs et les parents!

Meeting: I was able to inform some, but not all of you. There will be a meeting for students on Monday during tutorial. Please try to attend.

Tip/Bus Money: If you have not already done so, please bring me a check for $252 (payable to Robert Hall) as soon as possible. I plan to take care of depositing the checks and purchasing the traveler's checks on Friday. If, for whatever reason you don't pay me by then, I will need to collect the payment from you in cash (while on the trip, if necessary).

Two documents: At the parent meeting I promised to send out the Daily Schedule. I have also updated this on the Cholet Exchange Main Page since, as I learned at the parent meeting, the former link led to nothing.

In the last update I posted the Flight and Hotel Information. Here it is again so that both can be found together. On the Daily Schedule, Day 1 is Monday, June 13. Because of the Cholet Exchange, Day 2 is Tuesday, June 21.

EF Tour Link: EF has a new feature called Tour Link. It's a way to get in touch with people before and after the tour and for parents to keep up with what is happening during the EF portion of our trip. Since it is new, I'm not too familiar with it. So far only two people have signed on. One is a group leader (teacher) whose students will be traveling on our bus. I am the second. Check it out! Students and parents are able to access this. You should have received an e-mail on this.

American Airlines & Baggage Fees: I also promised to check on baggage fees. In the past there have been no baggage fees for international flights. I confirmed that that IS still the case. For further information regarding AA's baggage policies (weight and size), go to the American Airlines Baggage Allowance page and scroll down to "Travel to/through/from Europe".

Speaking of luggage, don't forget the "3-1-1" rule regarding liquids in your carry-on luggage.

Ariane: As you may have seen, our EF Tour Director is named Ariane. She will be with us for the entire EF portion of our tour, starting on June 21. I have been in touch with Ariane and we are discussing free time activities while in Paris.

Vegetarians: Ariane has asked me if we have any vegetarians in our group. I have discussed this with you and I have told Ariane about our one vegetarian (Kara). But if I am forgetting anyone, or if there are any other dietary restrictions we should be made aware, please let me know ASAP and I will tell Ariane.

Adresses et numéros de téléphone: Here is a document with the adresses and phone numbers of the host families. Now you can look up your homes on Mapquest, if you are so inclined. Parents, if you want to call your child's house, remember to dro the "0" in "02" For example, the phone number to Christine's house is 02 41 46 70 56. To call from America: 011 33 2 41 46 70 56. But if someone in Cholet would like to call Christine, include the "0": 02 41 46 70 56

C'est tout?: That may be it for now. If anyone has any questions during this final week, or if there are any items I said I'd take care of but haven't, please let me know.
