CHOLET EXCHANGE UPDATE - September 1, 2013 - "First Official Update"
41 DAYS UNTIL THE CHOLETAIS ARRIVE!
Dear Host Families,
First of all, I want to thank you all for agreeing to host a Cholet student this fall. This year marks the 20th anniversary of the exchange. One of the keys to its success is having families like you who are willing to open your homes for these two weeks. Simply put, without you, this program cannot happen. MERCI! I’m very happy to see families who are hosting for the second or third time. The fact that you are willing to do this again makes me feel like something must be going right.
Now, on to some important information and details.
In case you weren’t already aware, there is a website where you can find everything you’ll need to know for the exhcange. The address is: http://www.quia.com/pages/rhall/page510 . When you go there, you find the calendar, your duties as hosts, details on the excursions and more. I also plan to keep all of these updates archived on this website for future reference.
Regarding the excursions: You’ll see that we are taking the Cholet students to Cleveland, Niagara Falls and Pittsburgh. Host students are also invited to go on these trips. If you are interested, please click on the link for the agenda that you want to see. Be sure to download a permission slip, to. As soon as you turn in your permission slip and pay me the fee, you’re in.
Host families have first dibs on these trips until September 13. If there is still space available after that date, I will open the trip to all FHS students.
Please note, if you would like to go on the Niagara Falls trip, you MUST have a valid passport. This could be a passport book or a passport card.
One last item for this update, so far we still need home for six girls and one boy. If you know of any Fairview families that you feel may be good possibilities, please have them check out the website for information. (And thanks to those of you who have already done this!)
