CHOLET EXCHANGE UPDATE - September 22, 2013 - "A few things"
19 DAYS UNTIL THE CHOLETAIS ARRIVE!
Dear Host Families,
1. Excursions:
A. We still have room on all excursions. Starting tomorrow there will be announcements inviting all other students to sign up. So if you are hoping to come along, you’ve got more competition. Act fast! I’ve extended the deadline to September 30.
B. There has been a change in the Cleveland agenda. We’ve added a tour of the Cleveland Browns Stadium. (Mme Bellanger said the Cholet kids really wanted to see either a baseball or football stadium.) If you check the change on the website, you’ll see that the return time is still 6:00 pm. Those of you going to see Rascal Flatts will still make it on time. Thanks to Mrs. Hitt for coordinating this!
2. Cholet 2015. Believe it or not, I’ve already begun planning our next trip. Departure is Monday, June 15 and we return Tuesday, June 30. We will follow the same tour package as in 2013. The only difference is we will go to Cholet first then start the EF tour on June 23. Details can be found here: here . After this Wednesday’s Open House ends (7:34), I’ll stick around for anyone who would like to chat with me about it. If you enroll by the end of October, you get a $200 discount.
3. Still 5 remaining. We are still in need of homes for five girls. On the bright side, four new “maybes” approached me this past week. I hope to get their definite answers by tomorrow. But, if you were one of the people who said you could host a second student, please let me know if that is still true. We may need to use that “last resort”.
4. Panama Rocks – Monday, October 14. Mrs. Widger has looked into a visit to Panama Rocks, in Chautauqua County, NY. If there are at least 20 people, Panama Rocks will charge the group rates (see below). If you are interested, give your cash payment or check (payable to Brenda Widger) to me or Mrs. Widger no later than Friday, October 4. The reservation will be made on Monday, October 7 (one week in advance) only if at least 20 people have paid. You would be carpooling (not taking a bus) leaving Fairview at approximately 8:30 am. Afterwards, families could stop for lunch on their own or the group could do something together.
