12 jours!
Bonjour!
Hosting Situation As you’ve heard, every student now has a host family (finally!). If you’d like to stay caught up on whp is hosting whom, go to the Cholet Exchange October 2015 Home Page and click the link for the list of guests and hosts. Thanks again to all of you for hosting. I’ve said it many times over the years to the American families and to the Cholet families – WITHOUT YOU, THIS PROGRAM CANNOT EXIST! We’ve been very fortunate to have families like yours keeping the Fairview-Cholet Exchange going since 1993!
Excursions The deadline has passed to sign up for the excursions. Please remember to double check the itineraries (“Excursions” link on the Home Page) so you know when to pick up your students. Drop off time in the morning will be just like any non-excursion day. Also, keep an eye on the weather forecasts for those days and make sure you pack lunches/dinners when necessary.
Phone numbers If you have not done so already, please e-mail me with your telephone number (one for each host student and at least parent per host family). Or you can text it to me at 814-392-4524. Texting will be the primary method of getting the message out to the group (especially in the event of a delay in returning to FHS). I will assume texting works for you unless you tell me that you prefer a phone call. I will message two parents and two students who will relay my messages to everyone else.
October 9 - Arrival The Cholet students are scheduled to land in Cleveland at 6:08 pm. We should get to FHS somewhere between 8:00 and 8:30. We will have a very brief welcoming in the FHS cafeteria (pizza, light snacks, soft drinks). Since there is an away football game that night, I know that several of you (marching band and cheerleaders) cannot be with us. If you are not able to be at FHS for the arrival, please let me know who is responsible for picking up your student. Also, let me know if you are taking that student to the game or straight to the home.
October 21 - Farewell Dinner Just a reminder on the Farewell Dinner. It will not be on the final night of the exchange due to the volleyball game that night. It’s a home game and the building will be busy. Also, we have several hosts on the VB team who will (hopefully) now be able to attend. This will be a pot-luck dinner. We have always split things alphabetically. This year we’ll ask Arnold - Myers to provide salad and/or main dishes and Nelson - Zimmerman to provide desserts and/or main dishes. Be sure to bring and serving utensils for your dishes. French Club will take care of pop, water (feel free to bring more if you like) plates, napkins and cups. We will have several tables and power strips ready to go that night. Returning hosts know that this can really be a special night for everyone. We also invite non-hosts because many of them will have become friends with the Cholet students.
That’s all for this update. With just under two weeks to go, are you feeling the excitement?
Merci!
Monsieur
