Bonjour!
Hi Everyone. It’s hard to believe, but we are at the halfway point of our exchange. From what I have seen, it has been very successful! Thanks to all of you for making that happen.
Just a few reminders and notes as we approach the final days:
Remember to keep an eye on the October Exchange Main Page . The calendar and links to lots of important information (updates, excursions, etc.) can be found there.
Tuesday Pittsburgh Excursion (arrive at school at the regular time; return to FHS at approximately 8 pm): Students on this trip do not need to report to homeroom. Just go to the cafeteria. We pull out of the parking lot at 7:45. The entire itinerary (which was slightly revised) is on the website. A packed lunch is a necessity, a packed dinner is an option. The students will stop at the Grove City Outlets on the way home. They could but something at the food court, or eat a packed dinner there.
Wednesday Erie Excursion (arrive at school at the regular time; return to FHS at approximately 3 pm): Students on this trip should report to homeroom and go to first period. They will be called to the cafeteria in time for departure. A packed lunch is a necessity.
Wednesday Farewell Dinner Hopefully you’ve all caught the word that we now have a Thanksgiving theme for this event. If you are wondering what still needs to be taken care of, Mrs. Sitzler’s Facebook post from the morning of Saturday, October 17, is quoted below my signature. You can also send her an e-mail (sdsitzler@gmail.com). Plan to arrive between 5:30 and 5:45 with your dishes. We will have tables set up. At approximately 6:00 we will start the food line. We will also have a microphone set up for a few planned speeches. After that we keep the mike open and allow anyone who wants to say what they wish about the experience (so if you want to start writing something now, go for it!)
That’s all for this update. Let’s make week two as great as week one, if not better! I’ll write later this week about the Friday morning departure.
Merci!
Monsieur
From Mrs. Sitzler: This is for everyone that is cooking for the dinner on Wednesday. Please remember that we are cooking for around 110 people. If you think there's going to be an issue let me know. I have two people making turkeys, two people making potatoes, and two people making stuffing. Right now we have six pumpkin pies, and one apple crisp. We have two large salads coming from Sornberger's. We have one corn casserole, one green bean casserole, and two sweet potato casseroles. I have the silverware and the napkins. We have a whip cream and ice cream coming for the pie. We also have the rolls and butter.
