Here is a list of the costs for which you need to be prepared concerning our trip to France.
Part 1: EF Costs
To see the important costs to our travel company, EF Tours, view the itinerary, costs, reviews and more, click here . I can give you a hard copy of the brochure if you wish. When you are ready to enroll, click "Enroll Now".
Notes:
1. Costs that you owe to EF Tours
are due 110 days prior to departure - February 25, 2017 (if you pay manually) or 25 days prior to departure - May 21, 2017 (if you use the Monthly Payment Plan ). Adults are eligible to enroll, too. If you click "Price Details" (directly under the price quote), you will see the cost for adults.
2. The Global Protection Plan is optional. Each traveler/parent will make the decision on that independently. For more information on that, click here .
3. EF has no control over the Departure Fees. Unfortunately, we do not have a guarantee that they will not increase and travelers would be responsible if these fees did increase.
4. The $95 service fee is due to our variation from the tour package in order to accommodate the Cholet Exchange portion of the trip.
Part 2: Other important costs (not to EF)

Transportation from Paris to Cholet and then from Cholet to Paris. This cost is still to be determined. In 2011 the cost of the bus was 2,230 euros [$3150] divided among the 17 travelers. Of course, this amount will vary based on the number of travelers and the mode of transportation. In 2015 (with a group of 15) we traveled by train ($74 per person).
Tips for bus driver and tour director. For our bus driver, a tip of $3 per student per day is customary. For our Tour Director, who will accompany us throughout the EF portion of our trip, the tip is $6 per student per day. I will collect that next spring.
The tour cost includes breakfast and dinner each day. Lunch is not included. Beverages at dinner are not included.
Admissions to places not included in the tour (for example, going up the Eiffel Tower is not included, since not everyone wants to do that).
Shopping money. This is different for everybody. Depending on your shopping habits, perhaps between $15 - $40 per day.
As far as Cholet expenses are concerned, the host families pick up many of the major costs (meals), but you may need to cover some admissions and transportation fees.
