CHOLET EXCHANGE UPDATE – October 12, 2017
(1 day, and approximately 4½ hours!!!)
Hello Host Families,
Just one quick item today: TOMORROW!!!
Here’s a rundown of how things should play out.
Approximately 3:00 am in France (9:00 pm EDT) The group will leave Cholet by bus and head for the Charles de Gaulle airport in Paris. They should arrive about 5 hours later.
11:15 am (5:15am EDT) United Airlines flight 986 will take off from Paris for Chicago.
1:45 pm CDT (2:45 EDT) Flight 986 lands at Chicago O’Hare Airport
3:55 CDT (4:55 EDT) United flight 3632 takes off from Chicago for Clevfeland
6:18 pm EDT Flight 3632 lands at Cleveland Hopkins International Airport. I will be there to get them onto a bus. The 26 student, 3 teachers and I will make our way to FHS. I will contact you via remind.com if there is a significant delay. I plan to let you know when we cross the Ohio/PA border and when we hit the Fairview exit of I-90.
8:00 – 8:15 (if there are no delays) Light reception in the FHS cafeteria. The bus will drop off the students in the north parking lot (cafeteria side) and you will finally get to see your new friends! If you are in the cafeteria, it’d be great to step out to greet the group as they get off the bus. Their luggage will either be in the bus or in the luggage van. It would probably be best to put the luggage in your cars before going back into the cafeteria.
This reception will be relatively brief. This is not the meal that is split up alphabetically – that will be on October 26 and we’ll talk more about that later. For tomorrow, we have students in charge of bringing pizza, 2 liter bottles of pop, some cookies, and not much else. If you are bringing something, please have it in the cafeteria by 7:15. The students picking up the pizza (at around 7:30) will also make a stop at a grocery store if it seems like we need more pop, plates, etc.
We decided to pass out the gift bags at the farewell dinner rather than at tomorrow’s reception. That will give us more time to sort and stuff. Thank you to all who have offered to contribute something to the bags. You can leave those items with me or in the school office, whatever is more convenient for you.
That’s it for now!
Merci!
Monsieur
