Excursion to Niagara Falls

Permission Slip Niagara Falls
7:40 am Leave FHS for Niagara Falls. Rest stop at Angola, if needed.
10:15 am Arrive at Goat Island. Students will be dropped off on one end of the island and will have approximately 1 hour to explore the island, working their way to the Cave of the Winds entrance. While exploring the island, be sure to walk the footbridge, and get close to the edge of the Horseshoe Falls.
11:15 am Cave of the Winds. We follow wooden walkways to within 25 feet of the base of the falls. Be sure to watch the 15 second video on the page linked above.
After Cave of the Winds, we’ll have a picnic lunch. Be sure to pack a lunch!
12:30 pm Maid of the Mist from the American side. This boat ride passes directly in front of the falls and enters the Horseshoe Basin. Time permitting; you'll be able to go up the nearby observation tower before or after the boat ride.
3:30 pm Board bus and cross into Canada. Everyone (including Americans) should have passports ready!!
After crossing the border, you'll ride down Clifton Hill, (You'll probably spend some of your evening free time here, so keep certain attractions in mind.) and take a walk along the Niagara River.
4:15 pm At this time we climb the Skylon Tower which takes us 525 ft (160 m) above the ground and 800 ft (244 m) above the Falls.
After the Skylon Tower, you have free time. Suggestions: Imax Theater. Clifton Hill has many attractions such as the Guinness World of Records Museum, Louis Tussaud's Wax Museum, Ripley's Moving Theater, Movieland Museum of Stars, Ripley's Believe It Or Not Museum, and more. Make sure you eat dinner. There are restaurants (fast-food and sit-down) on and around Clifton Hill (for more on Clifton Hill, click here. ). You may also choose to pack a lunch, but you'll have to carry it with you since the bus may not be near.
8:00 pm Rendez-vous at the base of Clifton Hill (on the river side), board the bus, see the falls at night (if it's dark enough) and return to Fairview. Passports will be needed to re-enter the USA.
10:30 pm Approximate time of return to Fairview.

Pay when you turn in your permission slip. Payment may be in cash or check payable to Fairview French Club.
