CHOLET EXCHANGE UPDATE – August 29, 2019
(43 days!!!)
Octobre 2019 Main Page
Hello Host Families,
1. GREAT NEWS! As of yesterday morning, every Cholet student has a host family! And for the second time ever, we didn’t have to resort to one family hosting two students! Thanks again everyone!
2. Information needed, please E-mail addresses and street addresses. I am sure that I have all the student e-mail addresses I need. And I do have a few for parents. If I have your e-mail address, I sent this update notification you. Students, please check with your parents to see if they received this. (Parents, please check with your students.) If not, please show this to them and send me their address. If you would like me to have the e-mail address of both parents, that’s fine. Send me both. Merci! I have hopefully invited all of you to be a part of the Schoology group. But you may also request access by using the code CCWDK-ZD2WH
3. October 11 - 14 I received word last week that the Friday flight into Cleveland will now arrive later than originally scheduled, at 9:40 pm (it was 8:49). So the ETA at FHS is more like 11:30. Because of the late hour, we will not have a welcome reception as we normally have in the past. You may have heard talk of a brunch on Saturday morning. We have decided NOT to do that. You will have the entire 3-day weekend to plan. Monday, October 14 is an in service day. I am not officially organizing anything that day. If any of you would like to plan something (one year a parent organized a visit to Panama Rocks), that is up to you. I will help publicize if you wish.
4. Excursions As you saw in the August 12 update, hosts get first dibs on signing up until September 10. However, we cannot take everyone since space is limited. Your spot is reserved as soon as you pay me and turn in your permission slip. You may drop these off in the FHS office before the school year starts. Waiting lists will be created as needed. After September 10 I will invite all FHS students to sign up if space is available. All information can be found here . The Cleveland itinerary is coming soon.
5. Gift bag items We like to present to each of our guests a bag that has various local gifts from the area. Nothing too big (these need to fit in their luggage) and certainly nothing expensive. If you are able to get 29 of anything – coasters, posters, pens, pamphlets, stickers – please do. Hang on to them for now and I’ll start to gather everything in a few weeks.
That’s all for this update. I will get in touch with you as needed.
Merci!
Monsieur
