CHOLET EXCHANGE UPDATE – September 12, 2022

Hello Host Families,
I have four items for you today. Students, please check with your parents to make sure they have received this (I’m missing a couple of parent email addresses). Parents, please check with your students to make sure they have seen this (sometimes students might not check their email).
1. Host Families We’re almost there! As of this writing, we have host families for 24 of the 26 Cholet students. Sonia and Marie are the only two that remain. I am very grateful to all of you who have agreed to host. And I know the Cholet teachers feel the same way and are looking forward to meeting you. I am also looking forward to meeting those of you I have never met before. If you know anyone (preferably from FHS) who can help, please contact them. I’m hopeful we will find the final hosts within the next couple of days.
2. Keeping in contact Starting with the evening of October 13, there will be times that I will update you on the arrival status of the students. I don’t want you to wait in the parking lot longer than necessary. This will also be necessary when the students are on the way back from the various excursions. For the parents, I will create an account on remind.com. For the students, I will use WhatsApp. I will soon send you the information for you to enroll. (So much easier than the phone chains of the old days!)
3. Facebook For the past five exchanges I have created a Facebook group. When we travel to France, parents in Fairview can see how their kids are doing and what they are up to. Likewise, Cholet parents can see how their kids are in October. Click
here if you’d like to join the Fairview-Cholet Exchange 2022-2023 group. I (or any current member) will have to approve your request. This is the same group I used in June and will use next spring when our students go to France. You may also post and add pictures - in fact, please do!
4. Excursions The details are all set for Niagara Falls and Pittsburgh. Cleveland is almost ready. I have extended the “hosts have first dibs” deadline to September 20. Once you submit your money and permission slip, your spot is secured. Starting September 21, if spots are still available, all FHS students will be invited to sign up. Go
