CHOLET EXCHANGE UPDATE – September 19, 2022

Hello Host Families,
I have six items for you today.
1. Early Release If you are an FHS student who has early release, we’d prefer that your Cholet student stay here until the end of the day. Please be sure to arrange transportation.
2. Phone numbers Although I will use Remind.com to send messages (mostly regarding arrival times to FHS), I would also like to have your phone number on hand just in case. If you’d like to make a note of my number, it’s 814-392-4524. You could either text me your number (be sure to put your name in the message) or just email it to me.
3. 25/26 We are almost there! We only need one more host family. That will be for Maria. I’m still holding on to “one Cholet student per household”. But if you were one of the families who have offered to host two students, I might need to take you up on that. We’ll see what happens after today’s Schoology announcement. If you know anyone you’d like to nudge …

here if you’d like to join the Fairview-Cholet Exchange 2022-2023 group. I (or any current member) will have to approve your request. This is the same group I used in June and will use next spring when our students go to France. You may also post and add pictures - in fact, please do!
5. Farewell Dinner This is just an update/reminder to highlight #11 on the Duties & Expectations page. On Tuesday, October 25 we will have a farewell potluck dinner in the FHS cafeteria. Since this will be a tureen style dinner. I'd like to divide the food types among the host families alphabetically. (NOTE: In 2015 the host families had a new idea – a “Thanksgiving Meal”. We won’t rule that out for 2022.) Of course, if you have a dish you really enjoy making, and it doesn't fit your alphabetical assignment, go for it! I won't be using a checklist. We just want to avoid 26 desserts and no main course.
A-L: Please bring a main dish and/or salad-type dish.
M-Z: Please bring a main dish and/or dessert-type dish.
6. Calendar You may or may not have noticed the calendar at the top of the Cholet Exchange 2022 Home Page . Remember to click to October. (If you’re traveling next spring, you can click ahead a few months for that trip too!)
