CHOLET EXCHANGE UPDATE – October 4, 2022

Hello Host Families,
I have four items for you today.
1. Parent Meeting In my last update I asked if there was interest in a parent meeting. There are a few of you who said yes. I will plan one for this Thursday at 5:30 in my classroom. It is not mandatory. I do want all of you to feel as comfortable as possible as the arrival approaches. If you have any questions or anything you’d like clarified, feel free to email me in advance, especially if you do not plan to attend the meeting. I will also offer this on Google Meet . Please contact me to let me know if you (a) plan to attend in person, (b) plan to attend on Google Meet, or (c) won’t attend but may watch the recording later.
2. Mercyhurst update Guidance Counselor Mrs. Jensen has graciously taken over the planning for the visit to Mercyhurst University. Fairview students (primarily juniors and seniors and not just host families) and Cholet students will be invited, though this is not an official excursion, just an opportunity for any students interested.
3. Remind.com Several of you still need to sign up for remid. I have one account for parents and one for
students. This is very important - we don’t want any of our Cholet students stranded and left waiting for a ride to your home (or for you to show up too early and wait longer than you want). I have collected phone numbers as a back up, but only have a few. If you have not already done so, feel free to text your number (include your name) to 814-392-4524.
4. Meet the Cholet Students slideshow Yesterday, with the help of my first period students, I created a slideshow to be displayed during lunch. It shows pictures of the Cholet students along with their names and the names of their hosts. I received a request to share that presentation. If you are interested in seeing it, voilà!
