CHOLET EXCHANGE UPDATE – November 17, 2022

131 JOURS!

Dear Travelers and Parents,

Bonjour! I haven't updated you in quite a while. We do have a few news items to pass along and there are some tasks that many of you need to take care of before the 110-day deadline in our countdown. That day will be December 15. But first, an update on the changes to our group!

Who is traveling? As I was expecting, the October portion of the exchange did spark an interest in new travelers. About five or six students said they may sign on, and a few have so far. Any new travelers have until December 8 to enroll. If you know anyone who is considering the trip, feel free to give a gentle nudge.

Here is the updated list of travelers who have enrolled in the trip so far. As it stands right now, we are a group of 23, which includes three chaperones; Mrs. Hitt, Mrs. Magraw and myself.
Class of 2023: Colin Bolla, Adam Chiocco, Mitchell Myers and John Seyboldt
Class of 2024: Marguerite Bolla, Syl Canaan, Clara D’Silva, Riley Hickman, Lilly Moctezuma and Lola Post
Class of 2025: Layla Albasti, Gabe Farkas, Amelia Lyons, Lydia Morgen and Ben Seyboldt
In addition, we have four adults and one younger sibling: Riley's mother, Syl's mother and Lilly's grandmother, and two people not going to Cholet, but joining us for the EF tour, Gabe's mother and his younger brother Michael.

Things you need to do There are a few tasks that need to be done soon, and others where you have more time (like photocopies of your passports). For the ones that need immediate action (before December 15), log into your EF account and, if you have not already done so, please ..
(a) Enter your passport information (17 of us still need to do this).
(b) Make sure your name matches exactly the name on your passport.
(c) Make sure your email address is correct - I spotted two typos and a few that are still blank.

Your Cholet hosts If you hosted somebody in October, I’d like to assume that that person will host you. If this is not the case, let me know. For those of you who did not host, I mentioned a couple options to you: (a) Try to get to know a Cholet student during their stay here and the two of you agree to be paired up; (b) write an introductory letter that I will send to the Cholet teachers. Then a pairing will be made.
(Side note to the Seyboldts - Have you discussed with Sonia whether both of you will stay with her? Or is one of you planning to stay with someone else?)

That’s it for now. More updates will come soon. We will soon start to have student meetings during tutorial. We have much to discuss!

Monsieur
