CHOLET EXCHANGE UPDATE – February 6, 2023

The next tutorial meeting It’s tough to pick a good date. There’s a lot happening next week. I’ll have to get back to you on that.
Flight Info! As you know, we received our flight information last Friday. (You can see it
here ) After learning that, I was able to work on our transportation from CDG (Paris Charles de Gaulle Airport) to Cholet on March 30, and from Cholet to Paris on April 6. We will take a coach bus from CDG to Cholet. We should be on the round around 8:00 am and in Cholet around 1:00 pm. I will check on the exact cost, but the estimate I was given recently was approximately €2200 (around $2360). Whatever the total cost is, I will divide that by 23. I will let you know everyone’s fair share in the near future. There’s something that will slightly reduce this, more on that below.
On April 5 we will take the 8:48 am TGV (high speed train) from Angers to CDG. We should arrive at 11:09 am. There we will pick up Cheri and Michael Farkas (Gabe’s mother and brother). They will land in Paris at 9:15 am. From there, we’ll head into the city! I purchased the train tickets today. The cost to each of you for that is $65. Since I did need to pay for that on my own ($1480.35), could you reimburse me on that soon, please? Tips for EF Tour As you’ll remember from the Important Costs page, tipping was a cost that was yet to be determined. (I’m not asking for this now. Just the train money.) Those tips are for the following: A. Our EF Tour Director who will be with us for the entire tour starting April 6 until the day we head home. That is $6 per person per day. B. The long distance bus driver, $3 per person per day. C. Tour guides we will have in Paris and at the castles, $2 per person. I will calculate that total soon.
French Club donation Now, something I alluded to above. The French Club has agreed to donate $700 to help cover the above costs (tips and bus from CDG to Cholet). After I calculate the total of the above costs, I will subtract $700 and divide what is left by the number of travelers (23 travelers for the bus from CDG to Cholet and the tip total divided by 25, keeping in mind Cheri and Michael Farkas won’t join us until April 6).
