CHOLET EXCHANGE UPDATE – December 11, 2023

Hello Travelers, Potential Travelers and Parents,
This is the first of what will be many updates regarding our trip. When I get the chance, I'll create a website where all of our information can be found, including all updates. For over 20 years I've created this for two reasons; (a) so that you can always have access to the information I've sent to you, and (b) for the benefit of anyone whose interest in traveling with us came later than most - all the info they need will be in one place. If at any time you officially decide that you will not enroll, just let me know and I'll remove you from this list.
An update on our numbers. Currently we are a group of 24. That number includes me, two adults who have enrolled and 21 students. I did mention a waiting list will start once we reach 26 students, not 26 travelers, so we have room for five more. Adults who enroll will have the option of participating in the Cholet Exchange, or just joining us for the EF portion of our tour. We can discuss that more later.
FSF Scholarship. At our meeting I mentioned a donation through the Fairview School Foundation that would be offered for the cost of one student's trip. The winner of that scholarship is Isabella Nicholson! This was decided right before Thanksgiving. But I held off announcing this because I was told that a second scholarship may be offered. AND IT WAS! So we were able to select a second winner, Sophia Myers! I have been in touch with the families of both students and the ball is rolling! Congratulations to both of you!
Your EF Fundraising Page. At our informational meeting, I mentioned a "Go Fund Me" type of page. This is a great feature whereby anybody who wishes to can make a direct contribution to your EF account. This could range from gift ideas for birthdays or holidays, to a way of being paid for babysitting or any other miscellaneous jobs. You may even think of other possibilities. Your individual Fundraising Page can be found by going to your online account, clicking the payment button on the left-hand side, and then you will see the Fundraising Page link on the right-hand side on the page, like the below image. You can click on ‘copy shareable link’ to directly send the link to your Fundraising Page to family and friends.
To those who haven't yet enrolled, there is a chance that as of January 1, the program fee for our trip will increase. If so, by how much is not yet known. After that date, you may still enroll, it just may cost more. This increase will not apply to anyone who has already signed up. You can enroll online here
