Bonjour! For the parents, here’s a recap of what we discussed at Wednesday’s student meeting.
Behavior Contract The students received a form detailing behavior expectations both on the trip and at school between now and our departure. The short version: If a student makes bad choices between now and June, that student will not be traveling with us. If a student makes bad choices while we are in France, they will return early. Having said that: we have been very lucky on our trips. Students, hopefully, realize that spending over $4000 to break rules is not a great choice. (They can do that here for much less money.) Furthermore, for the most part, I know these kids very well and I would be VERY SURPRISED if any of them were to stray. They also know that if things were to ever elevate to the extent that I am not able to keep a handle on misbehavior, the Fairview-Cholet Exchange would come to an end. Please return these forms to me by next Wednesday, January 15.
Health & Medical Profile I also gave the students forms regarding medical info, especially for things I should know regarding a student’s medical issues that may arise while in France. I gave examples of two students, 33 years apart, who “might have migraines, and if they do, here’s what you (Monsieur) will need to do”. They did have migraines and I was able to follow the instructions provided by the parents. Any medications (prescription and over-the-counter) need to be listed on these forms. Please turn those to me (even if there is no information to share) by next Wednesday, January 15.
EFTours.com Accounts There are a lot of interesting resources on the EF website that students can access through their own accounts. Please be sure the students know the login credentials. One task they have (which is mentioned below) is to enter their passport information on their account.
Passport Reminders (from a past update)
Apply, if you haven’t yet! This process could take a while.
If you already have a passport, that’s great! You are probably all set. But we do want to be sure. Please check the expiration date. If the expiration date is at least six months later than our scheduled return date of July 3 (that would be February 3, 2026), you’re all set. If your passport will expire prior to February 3, 2026, please renew.
Once you have your passport I need you to do two things.
1. Log on to your EF account. You will need to enter your passport information.
2. Bring your passport in one day so I can make a photocopy of it. I will keep a few copies of everyone’s passport for various reasons. If you prefer to scan your passport and email that to me, that works! Brining in a paper copy is less helpful though.
