Kalin I received an email from our EF Tour Director and had a chance to talk to him this morning on WhatsApp. His name is Kalin. He’s originally from Florida and has been living in France for about 20 years. He’s been leading tours for EF for about 10 years. He’ll be with us throughout our EF tour, 24/7.
One of the items Kalin and I discussed was special dietary restrictions. He would like to know about any that the students may have. Here's what I have based on the info you provided. We have no vegetarians or vegans (though one who doesn't eat a lot of meat products - KS), nobody who needs a gluten free diet, one allergy to shellfish (CB) and one who is lactose intolerant with sugar and dairy restrictions (DA). Is there anything anyone would like to add? If so, please let me know by this Thursday.
On a similar note, EF can contact the airlines if there are any dietary restrictions. So on Friday I will share what I have with EF and with Kalin. I may send a reminder later this week, but no guarantee.

Parents - Remind App The following students have at least one parent in the “Remind” app. Look for @b9h6hgd; Cholet Exchange June 2025 (Parents). The number in parentheses tells if more than one parent is in. (More than one is certainly OK). It’s not mandatory, but it will be my primary method of keeping parents up to date on flights and more during the trip. Facebook Here’s a reminder to join the 2025 Fairview-Cholet Exchange Facebook page. If tradition holds, many parents, grandparents, etc. will suddenly become interested in joining once pictures and videos get posted. I’ll take care of those requests when time permits. If you want to be there from the start, feel free to join now. Students, you are also invited to join and make posts! Many parents over the years have been happy to see these posts.
Tips Just a reminder, if I have not yet collected your $70, the options to pay me are the same as for the train (but not the same as the bus): Venmo (@Robert-Hall-191), or write a check to Robert Hall and I can also accept cash. Before this week (the final week of classes) would be great! The day we leave is not so great since I won’t have a chance to deposit those funds into my bank account. If this week doesn’t work for you, please take the money to the FHS office next week. Worst case scenario, I’ll need to collect euros from the student while on tour.
Parent Meeting Recap There isn’t really much to add. Everything that came up on night 1 was covered on night 2 (or in the email I sent regarding lithium batteries). Nothing new came up on night 2. There was only one student whose parents were unable to attend. I’ll reach out to them separately. But if there is anything you’d like me to clarify and or cover again, just let me know.
Hotels!
Paris: June 28-29: Meininger Hotel Paris Porte de Vincennes, 37 Boulevard Carnot, 75012 Paris, France. Kalin says he has stayed here before. No complaints.
St. Malo: June 30-July 1 B&B Saint Malo Centre la Découverte, 76 Avenue du General De gaulle
Saint Malo I’ve been here three times. Not bad!
Normandie: July 2-3 La Ferme du bois, 14490 Saint-Paul-du-Vernay, France. This one looks unique. Great location - not far from the sites we will visit.
Paris: July 4 Clarion Paris CDG Airport, 8 allée du Verger, Roissy en France Way outside the city, but close to the airport.
