CHOLET EXCHANGE UPDATE – October 5, 2025
5 Days!
Bonjour! And yes, by this time next week, your guests will have already spent two nights at your home!! Here are a few items to note.
Communications As of this writing, only seven parents have joined our Remind - Cholet Exchange October 2025 (parents) group on REMIND.COM (code: @9fde4c9). We have 16 students in the WhatsApp group Fvw-Cholet oct 2025 (10 to go!). These groups will be the primary way we will keep you updated on arrival times to FHS on October 10 and after all excursions. If you are not in the appropriate group, please either join soon or be sure that you are in contact with someone who is. Worst case scenario: there’s a significant delay, you’re not aware and you wait longer than you have to in the parking lot.
While we’re on the topic of socials, here’s another reminder to join our 2025 Fairview-Cholet Exchange 2025 Facebook Page and an invitation to post pictures and updates whenever you do anything noteworthy. The families in Cholet will love and appreciate seeing what their kids are up to!
Brochure I have created a “brochure version” of the exchange for your reference. You can find it here and keep a copy for yourself handy.
Gift Bags We have had a few offers to make contributions to the gift bags (and one to provide the bags themselves!). Thank you for that, and we have room for more. We will pass these gifts out at the farewell dinner. Feel free to drop off items at your convenience for me in the office, or contact me directly.
Charcuterie Boards There was a suggestion to have charcuterie boards as gifts. That plan is in progress! Students in Mr. Fennell’s classes are designing and making these. I will send an image of the design as soon as I can. We will give these to every Cholet student and the three adults. If any of you will like one, they will be for sale. We have not yet decided on a price, but we are thinking somewhere in the $15-20 dollar range. This will serve as a fundraiser for the French Club. Unfortunately the Cookie Dough sale was not as successful as in past years and the club is very short on funds.
Welcome Banner Charlie Allen is leading the group on creating a banner. He sent an email to all students inviting them to come help in my classroom during tutorial Monday (October 6). If you have not already done so, let him know (26allenc@fairviewschools.org) if you can come help. Merci, Charles!
Bus to school? Or not? Almost everyone has taken the School Bus to School survey. If you are one of the three who has not, please do before I need to take the time to reach out to you. I will get the pass out to you (those who need them) this week.
Any questions or concerns? Lastly, I’d like to know if there is anything that I have not answered or just, in general, any concerns or questions you have? If what you are wondering about is something I have addressed in a past update, I can direct you back to that. If it’s something I have not already mentioned, I will get the word out ASAP. I’d like this experience to be as enjoyable as possible while going as smoothly as possible.
That’ll do it for this update. It’s almost time to count down the hours instead of the days!
Monsieur
