CHAPTERS 29-32 These chapters describe God's relationship with Egypt. She acts like she owns the Nile River. She boasts of being the greatest and the lion among the nations. Ezekiel predicts about seven times that Egypt's enemies will invade and destroy the land and people because of its pride. --1. God will put hooks in the jaws and drag Egypt out on the land. --2. God will give Egypt to Nebuchadnezzer. --3. A sword will come against Egypt and those who are slaughtered will cover the ground. --4. Pharaoh's arms will be broken and the people will scatter. --5. The Egyptians will be cut down and left on the ground. --6. Egypt will be completed destroyed. --7. The Egyptians will be dragged away to judgment. CHAPTER 29 This chapter reveals the general threats against Pharaoh and the Egyptians. CHAPTERS 30-31 The Egyptians laments over the predictions that Egypt would be destroyed and the downfall of Pharaoh. CHAPTER 32 This chapter is a lamentation over Pharaoh and the Egyptians because Ezekiel's predictions listed above did come true. You know Egypt still exists today after all of Ezekiel's predictions that did come true. So, how is Egypt still flourishing today. That's because God is a merciful God who took pity on Egypt. After Egypt suffered for a period of 40 years, God partially restored the Egyptians to their land.
