Speak Positive Words Because Words Are Powerful
Words are so powerful that God spoke everything into existence. We are not God, but we were made in the image of God, according to Genesis 1:26. Surely, we do not have the power to speak a whole world into existence, but our words do have power.
Solomon, the wisest man who lived during his day, said:
"Death and life are in the power of the tongue: And they that love it shall eat the fruit thereof." (Proverbs 18:21)
Therefore, be careful with the words you speak because words and the tongue are powerful. James 3:2-8 tells how powerful the small piece of flesh in our mouth is and the damage it can do if it is not tamed.
3 When we put bits into the mouths of horses to make them obey us, we can turn the whole animal. 4 Or take ships as an example. Although they are so large and are driven by strong winds, they are steered by a very small rudder wherever the pilot wants to go. 5 Likewise, the tongue is a small part of the body, but it makes great boasts. Consider what a great forest is set on fire by a small spark. 6 The tongue also is a fire, a world of evil among the parts of the body. It corrupts the whole body, sets the whole course of one’s life on fire, and is itself set on fire by hell.
7 All kinds of animals, birds, reptiles and sea creatures are being tamed and have been tamed by mankind, 8 but no human being can tame the tongue. It is a restless evil, full of deadly poison.
According to the above verses, you see that James makes the following comparisons:
Small bits in the mouth of large horses and they obey.
A small rudder can steer a large ship.
A small spark can set a great forest on fire.
Speak Positive Words Over Your Life
You should speak positive words over your life instead of negative words. That's because negative words have as much power as positive words.
Think before you speak negative words over yourself, family, friends, co-workers, church members, or anyone else.

Change the negative words you speak into positive words.
Never say, "I am so sick." Say, "I am healed in Jesus' name."
Never say, "I live on a fixed income." If you do say it, your income will never increase because you have claimed that it is fixed.
If you call yourself "stupid" or "dumb," guess what? You will be what you called forth into your life.
What To Do When Someone Speaks Words Against You
Don't accept negative words that people speak against you or your loved ones. So, what can you do to cancel those negative words and prevent the manifestation of them?
Isaiah 57:14 gives us the scripture to repeat:
"No weapon that is formed against thee shall prosper and every tongue that shall rise against thee in judgment thou shalt condemn. This is the heritage of the servants of the Lord and their righteousness is of me."
The above scripture simply means that if a weapon is used against us, it will not harm us if condemn it. Therefore, when wrong words are spoken against you and your loved one in the name of Jesus, condemn the negative words (lies, gossip, etc.) so they will not harm you. Remember to condemn the negative words, but never condemn the person who speaks them.

Years ago, I had to drive on a dangerous road when I went to work. Every day I said, "I know I am going to have an accident here one day." I was not surprised when I did have an accident there because I called it forth, and it happened just as I said it would. The negative thought was implanted in my mind, and they became more effective when I spoke them.
I learned my lesson that day, and I now longer call negative things into my life. I also cancel out negative things that people say to me by repeating the positive.
Those life principles work for me. Hopefully, they will work for you as well. So, be careful with the words that come out of your mouth because they really do have power.
