CASE FOR DOING THINGS FOR GOD'S GLORY So whether you eat or drink or whatever you do, do it all for the glory of God. (1 Corinthians 10:31) So many times we get tangled up in situations and wonder how we got there. Sometimes we arrive at a destination and don't even remember the trip. What causes us to end up in places we would rather not be? What causes us to do things we would rather not do? What causes us to make unwise decisions that will eventually be detrimental to us? Certainly we don't deliberately set out to get caught up in adverse situations. However, that's exactly where we end up if we are not doing ALL for the glory of God. (1 Corinthians 10:31) Before doing anything, ask yourself one important question: "Why am I doing this?" If you can't honestly answer: "For the glory of God" then reevaluate things until you can say, "I'm doing it for the glory of God." Unfortunately, there is no other right answer. Then we can "rejoice in the hope of the glory of God." (Romans 5:2) ==== fROM COMMENTS Unless it is for God's glory it will not work no matter how much we try to force it. Notice 1 Corinthians 10:31 says ALL must be done for the glory of God, not just part of it. Rejoice in the hope of the glory of God. I'm burdened by seeing people get into things that do not bring glory to God. While it might be a GOOD idea, it is not always a GOD idea that will bring glory to Him. Whenever you have a decision to make, ask "Is it for my glory or for some other reason?" Use this question and answer technique for making decisions from now on. After all, everything should be "for God's glory."
