May our Lord Jesus Christ himself and God our Father, who loved us and by his grace gave us eternal encouragement and good hope, encourage your hearts and strengthen you in every good deed and word. (2 Thessalonians 2:16-17) One of a human being's basic needs is to be loved. Poets write about love. Elizabeth Barrett Browning wrote to her husband, Robert Browning, the infamous sonnet, "How do I love thee? Let me count the ways." Many songs have been sung about love, such as "Love Makes the World Go Round" and "What the World Needs Now is Love, Sweet Love." Reading poetry, singing songs, and giving candy or flowers to those we love are all lovely gestures on Valentine's Day, birthdays, and other special occasions. However, don't limit your expressions of love. Let people know you love them on a regular basis. Tell them what we know about God's love. "And so we know and rely on the love God has for us. God is love. Whoever lives in love lives in God, and God in them" (1 John 4:16). Rev. Margaret Minnicks QUIZ - YOU ARE LOVED!
