Course Catalogue Description:
This course provides an understanding of the fundamental procedures involved in PLC control applications. It gives students a chance to utilize LOGO! with the standard situations encountered in control technology such as interlocks, sequential circuits, and step sequence. Although the course focuses on “LOGO soft comfort” software for programming and simulation, it also takes into consideration the selection of hardware alongside the development of the program.
Course Objectives:
Upon successful completion of this course, students should be able to:
Analyze control tasks by defining inputs and outputs, properties and conditions for simple residential and industrial control applications.
Write control routines and design an Industrial Process control program from beginning to end using LOGO Soft Comfort software.
Understand and apply interlocks, sequential circuits, step sequence, and conditional control circuits.
Maintain the safety and integrity of the process, by constructing programs in a proper manner to ensure design does not damage production machinery or injure the people who work on the process.
