I will assign some type of language arts, science, and/or, social studies assignment on most school nights. I will write assignments on your child's point sheet each day. If they use their school time wisely, some assignments can be completed before your student leaves school. If this is the case, I will draw a line through the assignment AND write the word "finished" by it AND initial that assignment to let you know that it is indeed complete. If you do not see these three things, the assignment has not been completed or completed correctly. PLEASE ask you child about what we do in class each day; discuss their behavior with them and try to identify positive steps you child took that day along with discussing making better choices concerning any points that were noted that need to be worked on.
In class, we will be working on a variety of state curriculum standards within each content area. To accomplish this I will bring in some of my favorite novels to read with your child along with creating some pretty fun science labs and relevant social studies content.

We are currently working on pronouns and their usage. Along with this, we are focusing on the 5 elements of plot and how they relate to literature and other forms of entertainment.
We are about to complete our first chapter in science! Look for review material and please help your child study for his or her test!
PARENT TEACHER CONFERENCES! I have sent sign-up slips home with your child! Please let me know what time (there is a space on the form I sent home) you would like to come in and meet with me.
